Government to help it implement the national housing policy.

David Kugonza | November 7, 2016

Government is coming up with a number of measures to help it implement the national housing policy.

The policy was launched early last month by the Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda during celebrations to mark World Habitat day provides a framework to promote construction, upgrading, repair and maintenance of housing for all as well as guide real estate development in the country.

Now speaking to Kfm State minister for housing Dr Chris Baryomunsi says one of the measures being undertaken to ensure implementation is setting up a mortgage facility and also reducing taxes on construction materials.

He is optimistic that with reduced costs of construction materials more people will be able to put up decent structures.
