Kato Kajubi back to jail
Lawyers representing businessman Godfrey Kato Kajubi have raised concern that investigationΒ intoΒ theΒ ritualΒ sacrifice caseΒ againstΒ him hasΒ delayedΒ Β his committalΒ to the High Court forΒ trial.
Kajjubi who came to court smiling hoping that he could be committed today went visibly disappointed after Masaka Grade 11 Magistrate FortunateΒ KaamukamaΒ orderedΒ that he be taken back to prison because investigations were still going on.
The StateΒ Prosecutor RachaelΒ NamazziΒ told CourtΒ thatΒ Kajjubi βs PoliceΒ fileΒ was still at the DirectorateΒ of Public Prosecutions in Kampala since investigationsΒ are incomplete.
The magistrate has thus ordered that Kajubi be re remanded at Masaka prison until 29th February.
Prosecution alleges thatΒ KajjubiΒ togetherΒ with Umar Kateregga, aΒ traditional herbalistΒ and his TanzanianΒ Wife-Β Mariam NabukeeraΒ in OctoberΒ 2008Β beheaded Β 12 year old Β Joseph Kasirye, for ritual purposes in Masaka.
