Government is set to select the lead investor in the construction of an oil refinery in the Albertine Graben.
Uganda was given the lead mantle in constructing the refinery following a tripartite meeting between the heads of state of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
The communications officer in the Petroleum Exploration and Production Department, Bashir Hangi told MPS on the Human Rights committee that the lead investor will work under a public-private partnership with government.
Hangi says this process will also kick start the process of construction of the refinery.
