Lecturers welcome closure of university

Lecturers under their body Makerere University academic staff association have welcomed the directive for closure of the university

President Museveni last evening ordered for the closure of the university to guarantee safety of persons and Property

This follows a students’ strike yesterday in which they destroyed people’s property in kikoni and around the university

The students’ strike was prompted by a move by lecturers laying down their tools over nonpayment of their accumulated incentive arrears amounting to 28biliion.

Speaking to KFM, the spokesperson of MUASA, Dr Deus Muhwezi says the closure will give the university time to sort out their issues
