MPs reject loan request

David Kugonza | November 2, 2016

Legislators on parliamentary committee on National economy have rejected a loan request by ministry of finance for failure to follow up on earlier loans.

Yesterday ministry of finance wanted to borrow 100 million US dollars from the international development association to finance the power grid expansion in northern Uganda.

However legislators including Morice Kibalya , and Paul Musoke declined to support this request saying that ministry must provide them with satisfactory update from earlier loans whose implementation is still wanting

However the minister of state for investment Gabdriel Ajedra said that the committee members to approve this loan to enable the Uganda Electricity Transmission company limited extend to that area
