In a bid to curb terrorism, Makerere University is to install solar panels on all university streets and in all dark corners.
This follows several terror threats targeted at the university prompting the deployment of the anti- terrorism squad at the university.
According to the University Deputy vice chancellor Dr. Okello Ogwang, using a donation from sharp electronics, 120 solar lights worth 3.5 billion shillings will be installed.
Meanwhile the police spokesperson Fred Enanga has assured the University of maximum security and monitoring from police and other security organs.
