Nambooze Wants todays Special Sitting to Discuss Closure of Makerere

David Kugonza | November 7, 2016

As parliament is to have a special sitting today, to mourn the death the late Maj Gen Julius Oketa, Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze wants, this same sitting members to discuss issues that plague the country.

In a letter she addressed to the Deputy Speaker last evening, Nambooze asked that, the closure of Makerere University, the failing economy, violation of human Rights and pathetic state of service delivery be put on the order paper and debated.

Nambooze who is currently in Sri-Lanka is expected back in the country today’s afternoon.

This has come at a time when opposition members of parliament were seeking for a special sitting to discuss the current situation in the country.
