Government will prioritize improvement in public finance management in the new financial year.
This was revealed by President Yoweri Museveni yesterday while speaking after the budget presentation by finance minister Maria Kiwanuka.
He said that through the ministry of finance, government was implementing important reforms in public finance management, an initiative he fully supported.
The president also noted the low level of domestic revenue mobilization as one of impediments to social economic transformation.
He has asked the Uganda Revenue Authority to improve enforcement of revenue collections and to broaden the country’s tax base.
