Oulanya has challenged gov’t to meet its obligations and clear domestic arrears

David Kugonza | November 4, 2016

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya has challenged government to meet its obligations and clear domestic arrears.

Oulanya’s comments come just a day after Government resolved and implement an immediate closure of Makerere University arising from a sit down strike by lecturers demanding for the payment of their arrears.

The Deputy Speaker while presiding at the Press Plenary breakfast organizing by the Uganda Parliamentary Press Association at Imperial Royal Hotel in Kampala says that government must seek to pay its citizens.

Oulanya has also expressed concerns with the heavy public expenditure without tangible results.
