David Kugonza | November 2, 2016

The Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has advised judicial officers to embrace revolutionary methods in addressing corruption from its roots.

Speaking at the13th East African Magistrates and Judges Association Annual Conference in Kampala, Rugunda said Corruption in the Judiciary must be addressed through courageous and comprehensive interventions.

The premier added that possessing the best ICT systems, modern buildings, among other facilities without addressing laziness and corrupt would undermine transformation.

He challenges the Judiciaries to focus on cultivating judicial independence, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of service, and opening up courts to the poor and vulnerable, who feel excluded from the judicial process.
