The Ministry of health has earmarked Sh 2.2billion to reduce cases of teenage pregnancies in the country.
Currently, the pregnancies account for over 1000 deaths annually with Butalejja district having the highest number of cases.
State minister for primary health care, Sarah Opendi says the campaign that takes immediate effect will run for one year.
It will involve setting up health clubs and treatment centers in schools for children to access family planning services.
The minister says that they have observed that children start having sexual relations as early as 10 years asking parents and guardians to always engage their children in sex education.
