Taxi operators welcome Betty Kamya’s plan on Taxi stages

David Kugonza | November 2, 2016

Taxi leaders have welcomed the plan of evicting all drivers operating on illegal stages in the city centers

The Minister of Kampala betty Kamya yesterday promised taxi drivers operating in USAFI market that she is going to evict all illegal stages in Kampala force them to the parks just like she did to vendors.

Speaking to KFM, the chairperson of Uganda transport Development Agency [UTRADA] Mustapha Mayambala welcomed Minister’s plan asserting that she should fulfill her promise.

He explains that the reason why drivers in USAFI have not been thriving in terms of business is because taxi drivers no longer get passengers from park but on the streets hence this is a great opportunity to them.
