Ugandan traders are pulling out of Jonglei state capital, Bor over security concerns following withdrawal of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) troops this week.
The Secretary for Ugandan Community in Jonglei State, Moses Sekajja says the withdrawal leaves adequate security to Ugandan nationals in the state.
He says some of the Ugandan traders are now shifting to Juba while others are returning home.
The Ugandan People Defense Forces were deployed in South Sudan after the outbreak of conflict in 2013.
The first batch of Ugandan soldiers left Bor Town last week.
Their withdrawal is part of the implementation of the peace agreement to resolve the conflict.
In a related development, Norwegian Special Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan has called on both the government and the SPLM in Opposition to form a transitional government by next month.
According to the peace, the government of national unity should be formed within 90 days after signing the agreement in August.
Jens Petter Kjemprud says there is no other way to bring peace than to implement the agreement.
The Norwegian envoy is in Juba with his two colleagues from the United States and United Kingdom to follow up on the implementation of the agreement.
