Bantariza attacks Lukwago

David Kugonza | October 27, 2016

The city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has been urged to desist from politicizing matters of street vendors.

This follows recent clashing between Lukwago and the minister for Kampala Betty Kamya over the street vendors.

Speaking to Kfm the deputy executive director of the Uganda Media Centre Col Shaban Bantariza says Lukwago should instead work with government in bringing order to the city rather than riding on populism.

Lukwago had proposed that government finds an alternative place for the vendors before evicting them from the streets.

The city council in a meeting held earlier this week chaired by the Lord Mayor resolved to allocate some streets for vendors to operate from.
