FDC DEMAND POLICE VACATE BESIGYE’S HOME

David Kugonza | November 1, 2016

Opposition’s Forum for Democratic Change has asked police to vacate Dr Kizza Besigye’s home in Kasangati lest they face consequences.

Police has laid siege at the former presidential candidate’s home since February this year often arresting him and detaining him at Naggalama Police station with no charges.

In a press statement, FDC Secretary General Nandala Mafabi says that the continued siege is a violation of Besigye’s Constitutional rights and a direct evasion on his privacy.

Nandala wants police to respect directives by court that declared police stay at Besigye’s home illegal.

However police insist that their actions are preventive measures only aimed at containing Besigye’s defiance campaign.
