Kato Lubwama wants a clean City

David Kugonza | October 18, 2016

Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwaama is asking Kampala Capital City Authority to exempt city garbage collectors from monthly dues as one of the means of ensuring a clean city.

The law maker says resident in many divisions are enduring a strong stench emitted from garbage simply because some people are unwilling to pay garbage collection fees.

The call follows a proposal by the City Authority to increase the dues under what is defined as a new city trade order.

Lubwama suggests that registered companies be exempted from such fees so as to attract more garbage collectors for effective coverage of the city.
