KCCA gives two fire-fighting trucks to police

David Kugonza | October 27, 2016

Kampala Capital City Authority has handed over two fire-fighting trucks to police as a move to improve fire response services in the city.

The trucks were donated by Japan after they were lobbied by Rubaga Mayor Joyce Ssebugwawo.

Ssebugwawo says her interest to lobby for the trucks was ignited after the 2010 incidence when fire gutted the Kasubi royal tombs.

The Executive Director of KCCA, Jennifer Musisi says the fire equipment was handed over to police because as KCCA, they do not have enough expertise on how to use them.

She further urged the police to be available and in time in case of fire outbreaks, urging political leaders to work towards the good of the people.
