The local business community is asking government to lift the ban on sugar exports if they are to compete favorably with their counterparts in the region.
According to the Executive Director of Private Sector Foundation Uganda Gideon Badagawa, the reason for the low prices of sugar in the market is because of the ban on sugar exports.
Speaking to KFM, Badagawa said the ban has affected profits as imported sugar floods the market.
