low female turn up in army recruitment

David Kugonza | October 18, 2016

There is low turn up of females in the ongoing military recruitment exercise that enters the second day today.

In Greater Mukono, no female turned up to join the force when the exercise started yesterday.

In other parts where few females turned up, most were turned away for failing tests.

Others did not make it due to ill health especially those with Anemia, HIV, skin diseases, Hepatitis B, and diabetes among others.

The UPDF Recruitment exercise spokesperson, Capt Arthur King
Timbaganya said they also registered two cases of Hepatitis B.

A total of 77 were recruited in Greater Mukono and are to undergo training. 41 of these are from Mukono district, six from Buvuma and 30 from Buikwe.
