Mafabi warns on media gagging

David Kugonza | October 27, 2016

Budadiri West MP Nathan Nandala Mafabi has cautioned the Parliamentary Commission against gagging the media.

Mafabi’s caution comes in the face rising tensions between the commission and sections of mainstream media over perceived negative coverage arising from media reports about parliament expenditure.

Mafabi while addressing Peter Ogwang and Arinaitwe Rwakajara, both members of the commission says it is wrong for the House to stifle free flow of information.

Meanwhile Ogwang says that the commission has come up with new mechanisms of information management under the Directorate of Communications and Public Affairs
