Minister welcomes evening markets.

David Kugonza | October 26, 2016

The minister of Kampala Betty Kamya has welcomed the proposal to allow vendors operate in the evening as it was proposed by the city authority.

She made these remarks while addressing Journalists shortly after KCCA’s Metropolitan Physical Planning Authority meeting in Kampala.

She notes that the evening market is a good idea but as leaders, they should first sit and plan for it because they don’t want to face challenges over the same

She however insisted that these vendors should first vacate the streets because they want trade order in the city

She pledged to engage other stakeholders to have the issue of street vendors solved so as to avoid clashes in the city, expressing fear that it could affect development.
