MOH confirms 915 COVID-19 cases

The ministry of health has today confirmed a total of 915 new covid19 cases, the highest since a more serious and aggressive second wave of the pandemic was announced.

This raises the total number of Covid-19 infections to 48,676.

Out of the new cases, 910 are contacts and alerts with 600 from Kampala, 83 from Wakiso, 34 from Gulu, and 24 from Luwero districts among other districts.

Five of the new cases are of truck drivers who were intercepted from Mutukula point of entry and one from Kampala.

Two more people are confirmed to have succumbed to covid-19 raising the total number of fatalities to 364.

The ministry has meanwhile said the number of people getting vaccinated has increased to 672,395.

Uganda received 964,000 doses of AstraZeneca from covax and the government of India.
