MOH in a bid to eliminate AIDS deaths

HIV-AIDS remains the leading cause of death among adolescents in Uganda and the second globally according to the ministry of health.

The ministry indicates that in 2014 alone 2.6million children were living with HIV/AIDS and 78% of adolescents between 10-24years were battling the virus.

Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, the minister of State for children and youth affairs says that; in a bid to eliminate more deaths in the country, the government is implementing a “Triple 90 percent strategy” which is aimed at ensuring Testing, Medication and Immunity boost.

The ministry of health has organized a three day conference as a drive towards its goal starting today in Kampala.

The ministry aims at reducing the stigma and discrimination in schools.
