A section of opposition legislators has threatened to drag the IGP and other police officers to court over the Rukungiri incident.
One of the legislators Tororo County MP Geoffrey Ekanya says he is to sue Gen. Kayihura and officers involved in the Saturday fracas of attempting to end his life.
This follows an incident where police reportedly threw tyre cutters at the FDC flag bearer KizzaBesigye’s convoy causing a collision which left a number of vehicles damaged.
Ekanya says these must answer individually for this abuse of his right and threat to life, further noting that the matter will also be taken to the African court of Justice.
