PAC Grills immigration officials

Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee on has grilled officials from the immigration department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs for failure to account for over 30 generators.

According to the 2014-2015 Auditor General’s report, the Department procured over 1,450 generators but could only account for 1,420.

The committee chaired by Soroti Woman MP Angeline Osege also learnt that 39 generators were mysteriously found to be dysfunctional.

The Director Citizenship Control Godfrey Wanzira Sasagah and a one Liven Rutaraka the store keeper have failed to give satisafactory explanations to the committee and have been warned of harsh consequences.
