Salvador is the funniest man in Africa

Ugandan Patrick Idringi aka Salvador is officially the funniest man in Africa after being named as the only African among the top funniest men globally after the first round of voting

The 20 finalist were selected from 88 first contestants from 56 countries. His counterpart Pablo was also inclusive, but couldn’t make it to the top 20.

He’s gained the label as he is the only African to be shortlisted in the top 20 comedians list announced and was part of the semi-final stage of the contest at an international press briefing that was held at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood on Tuesday morning.

The other African countries in the competition – Kenya, Malawi, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan and Tunisia – were all eliminated in round one.

According to laughfactory.com, the 20 comedians that made it to the final round, will be tussling it for a trophy and a grand prize of $100,000 (about 330m) for the eventual winner who will also become a comedy peace world ambassador.

We’ll have to wait until December to see if he is crowned.
