Uganda wins at the AFRIMA’s in Lagos.

The 3rd edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) took place in Lagos Sunday the 6^th November 2016 in Lagos, Nigeria

The night saw Cindy Sanyu beat Yemi Alade, Evelyn Wanjiru (Kenya) and Sinachi (Nigeria) to win Best Female East Africa accolade but lost out to Patoranking (Nigeria) for the Best Artist/Duo/Group African Ragga & Dancehall gong

Eddy Kenzo won the Best Collaboration award for the Mbilo Mbilo rmx ft. Nigerian Niniola. they beat off competition from Tiwa Savage Ft Dr. Sid (Nigeria – If I Start to Talk) Sarkodie ft Pat Thomas (Ghana – Bra) who were in the same category

Song writer of the year award went to another Ugandan Unique For Navio’s hit single Njogereza fending off competition from Eddy Kenzo’s (Mbilo Mbilo) remix ft & Niniola (Nigeria)

The only other east African winner on the night was Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania who beat fellow East Africans Navio & Eddy Kenzo to the Best Male East Africa & Song of the year

Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Irene Ntale, Juliana Kanyomozi were the other ugandan artists who come home empty handed.
