Uganda national association of teachers union have blamed Uganda Examination board for the poor performance of teachers in the country

This follows government admitting that 80% of teachers cannot read

According to a new government evaluation, re-confirming a systematic decay in quality of the country’s education, Eight out of every 10 primary school teachers who qualified last year can neither read nor solve basic primary-level mathematics questions,

The general secretary of UNATU James Tweheyo, UNEB exams these teachers in senior four and senior six, gives them good grades and yet they cannot read.
