UNRA ED Allen Kagina given deadline

David Kugonza | October 21, 2016

Parliament’s committee Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises has given the Uganda National Roads Authority up to 22nd of November to carryout due diligence on all the ongoing road projects in the country.

This comes after the UNRA Executive Director Allen Kagina apologized before the same committee for failure to effectively monitor contractor compliance.

The committee chaired by Bugweri County MP Abdul Katuntu discovered that UNRA paid about 22 billion shillings to a brief case contactor China Railway No. 3 to construct the Kanoni-Sembabule road.

Katuntu says the authority should report to the same committee with a full report on all hired companies and their registration certificates.
